I've found often the v4l-dvb hg has a previous .version in the v4l sub
directory, that needs to be removed before you can do a 'make v4l-clean' (or
'make clean' in the v4l-dvb directory). If you've previously made the
v4l-dvb, or if the uploaded hg includes a previous make, this .version file
can cause the build to fail against your sources if they don't match.
Safest to 'rm v4l-dvb/v4l/.version'.

On a side note, on symbol problems. I've noticed several times if you
rebuild using 'yum install kernel-XXX kernel-devel-XXX' you can get symbol
errors when you've done the ivtv build. Only thing I can attribute this to,
is the yum.repo you're using for kernel and kernel-devel do not have
matching kernel headers. Always safest to build your own kernel I reckon.
