I tried both with and without extra "alias" lines added to modprobe.conf, with no effect. I saw some discussion of similar problems in the 0.4
series here,

where the problem appeared to be a 64-bit/32-bit memcopy issue.
Kernel is 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5 (x86_64 version).
