I originally had it disabled because I only have 896 Mb. I just re-enabled it last night out of desperation (merely because it's related to the what's wrong here. I'll go ahead and disable it once again, recompile, and reboot. Any other ideas though because like I said it originally was disabled?

BTW, I'm currently downloading knopp myth just for the purpose of verifying that the card works.

Unless you have more then 4Gigs of memory CONFIG_HIMEM4G should be
disabled. Have you tried disabling this?
