ivtv installation is very straightforward on Fedora Core (RedHat) if you follow Jarod Wilson's excellent guide (http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php), which in turn uses Axel's ATRPMs.  With the recent 0.6.3 release of IVTV, IVTV compiles and runs properly on SuSE 10.1 also.

Question: If I switch up to Redhat instead of Mandriva, will I have less
trouble getting ivtv to work?  I really don't have any time to mess
around with installations that don't work or documentation that doesn't
exist (re: the lack of a howto for Mandriva).
