Hi all,

just for information. I recently posted my problems with getting 0.6.3
working with kernel 2.6.22 on debian/testing (using udev instead of
hotplug). The driver compiled ok but dmesg always showed me that
tveeprom could not load and it really took me some evening sessions to
figure out why.

Today i realized it was not working because i forgot to enable kernel
auto loading for modules. After i enabled that function in the loadable
module settings of "make menuconfig" it first worked for an older
testing kernel 2.15.7 and then i tried 2.17.1 with the new still not
official released ivtv version 0.7 and this is also fine now.

My intial problems with compiler errors for version 0.7 where due to the
fact that i did not enable all necessary settings in the "additional
codecs" section the kernel. After i enabled that the compiler went
smoothly and i did not get this "slicec something..." compiler error
message. What helped me was another thread in ivtv-users that was
refering to this good link

Regards,

weeny
