That was it - thanks! In my case, the ivtv module was being
built/installed, so I just got rid of the kernel cx25840 module and
all was well. I'm using KnoppMyth, and the how-to on their wiki for
updating the ivtv driver mentions getting rid of some of the kernel
ivtv modules when you compile a new version to avoid conflicts, but it
didn't mention the cx25840 module. I'll try to update the wiki. -Jim
