Hi,

Ever since I'm using ivtv 0.7 I need about a dozen reboots to get udev
started. I need a dozen reboots too, to get ivtv working (most of the times
the driver simply isn't loaded at all. All together I need about 20-30
reboots to have one successful start of my system.

I used to run FC4 with ivtv-0.3 on this box without any issues.
Ever since I moved to FC5 and ivtv-0.6 and lately 0.7 I have a big problem
getting the box going.
I'm 100% sure this is IVTV related, but it seems to me it's a problem that not
everyone sees. It's however so consistent here that I'm sure there's a bug in
this driver somewhere.

I tried switching power off for a long time, but this makes no difference.
I tried uninstalling the video4linux drivers and that also didn't bring a
solution.

I like to find the root cause of this, but since my system doesn't get further
than "starting udev:" it's hard to do anything on the box.

Does anyone have more suggestions ?
Can someone come up with some possible causes why I never had an issue with
ivtv-0.3 but every version after that didn't work properly ?
I think the root cause must be in a change in the driver, or something related
to the chip set of my main board and the latest kernels. I use a Asus a7v600
mainboard (VIA kt600 chipset).

Regards,
Marcel
