I have posted this on the MythTV list, but I guess that this forum is
more relevant:

I have been unable to get close captioning to work under MythTV with my
PVR-150, and from what I have read in the archives I can't help but wondering
if it is at all possible?

The ivtv drivers version that I am using is 0.6.3. I have /dev/vbi
device (actually, a link from /dev/v4l/vbi0) which is accessible by
the mythtv user. I have specified, with mythtv-setup, that I'll be
using NTSC with close captioning.

Whenever I tried to toggle close captioning, mythbackend prints out
the following:

2006-07-19 17:06:00.287 TVRec(1): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
2006-07-19 17:06:00.458 Can't enable VBI recording (2)
vbi: Invalid argument

I have configured the PVR-150 , in this respect, by means of

ivtvctl -b cc

But, when I tried

ivtvctl -w cc

I got

ioctl IVTV_IOC_S_VBI_PASSTHROUGH failed: Invalid argument

and similarly for

ivtvctl -b cc -x 1

Feedback, anyone?
