I was looking at this for a few hours last night, and I'm stumped:
For the past few years, I've been using ivtv successfully, using various versions ( 0.3.x was the last) with a PVR-250
Now, I'm trying to upgrade to ivtv 0.4.6 on kernel 2.6.15.6. cat dev/video0 gives me a capture file with video, but there no audio.
I've double checked that the inputs going into the 250 are giving audio, and I've double checked that the right audio input is selected via ivtvctl and NOT muted.
It seems that I'm missing the msp3400 kernel module (searched /lib/modules/ 2.6.15.6). Thinking that might be the problem, I tried to compile it (docs say it's in the kernel now), but I can't find the option.
What menuconfig option do I need to choose in order to get msp3400 built?
I have CONFIG_VIDEO_AUDIO_DECODER & CONFIG_VIDEO_DECODER built as suggested.

Here is dmesg. Interestingly enough, I get the many of same errors I got with 0.7.0 & 2.6.17.5 (Failed to load module, i2c client addr), which wasn't working at all!. I was forced to give up & try 0.4.6 & 2.6.15 b/c of a plumeting MythTV WAF!)
