I found another strange thing in logs in meantime: Every failing attempt ALWAYS reports wrong length of firmware loaded (for version 0.6.3, ver. 0.7.0 seems to be another story). The correct length should be 262144, the reported lengths are always shorter (from ~120 kB to ~190 kB. If the loaded size is correct, then initialization is proper. How is this possible?
