The machine is  a brand new  (/proc/cpuinfo): Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz with about 512 MB Ram. I use SuSE 10.1 (plain install without any updates).  Unfortunately I have a bit a time problem. The Installation (PVR-350) is for media (streaming) event in september and should actually be tested.

Many thanks

Please provide the INIT IVTV messages from the kernel log (dmesg).
Mito's problem is related to his specific msp3400 chip (the msp3435g).
If you have a brand new pvr350 then it is unlikely that your problem is
related since you almost certainly have another msp model.
