You should be using the msp3400 from the kernel,
not from ivtv.
Thats why it doesn't get built by ivtv anymore. Should be located at :
/lib/modules/2.6.17-1.2142_FC4/kernel/drivers/media/video/msp3400.ko

Thanks for your help. I do have that file. When sound didn't
work on the test recordings, I renamed it like Jarod suggested. I have now
named it back to msp3400.ko. I still get no sound on new recordings and
live TV. I see the suggestion from Sander and have asked him more
questions about what he suggested (I have no idea how to do what he
suggested). If you have any other suggestions I would welcome them.
I have everything else working but that still makes the basic application of
MythTV not viable. Thanks again,
