I've been using ivtv-0.4.3 for a while now, it works great. I'm trying to update to linux-2.6.17, and I understand that I need to update to ivtv-0.7.0. I have a working kernel, and ivtv-0.7.0 basically works, however, I have problems with record-v4l2.pl. I found that I needed to "tweak" the perl script to deal with the change of videostandard from "NTSC" to "NTSC-M". After the upgrade, I noticed that my recordings on some channels were not a crisp on the lower channels as the previous version. Also, I'm finding that channel 5 won't record at all, I'm getting all "snow" when recording that channel.
Do I need to possibly upgrade ivtv-frequencies or some other perl dependency? Is there a preferred method for recording as compared to using record-v4l2.pl? I don't use MythTV. I'm using a PVR-350 card.
