I've been using IVTV for some time (I too have a 350) but just recently
made the jump from FC5 to Gentoo. I'm very pleased with Gentoo and all I
did to get IVTV working was follow the HOWTO from the Gentoo wiki, and I
use the patched Gentoo kernel sources. A word of caution though, the
wiki covers installation to a 2.6.16 kernel (which is version 0.6.* of
IVTV).

I knew I had to use 0.7.* (the only version of the driver that works
with 2.6.17 kernels) so I had to unmask it (0.7.* isn't marked as stable
yet), tried emerging it and it actually came back and told me I was
missing some v4l-related kernel modules. A 'genkernel --menuconfig all'
fixed that problem, rebooted, emerged ivtv (which didn't complain this
time), 'modprobe ivtv' and away it went.

Sorry to be so late to the party, it is good to see you up and running
though ;D
