Both ivtvctl (pre-0.8.0) and v4l2-ctl (for 0.8.0) have the ability to return the frequency. For the latter command it's the -F option. From there, you have to convert it back into a channel number. You can get a list from `ivtv-tune -l`. -- Dan Wilga "Ook."
