It looks like you have a 4.3.99 (XFree86) version of the driver.
If you followed my previous email and build the xfree version, did you
delete it before you tried to install the *-unreleased_i386.deb? I'm
not sure where that deb installed the ivtv_drv.so file. If you did
remove it.
If that still isn't doing it for you, then perhaps you could post WHICH
patch of mine you used, what the results of the patch process were, and
then, what the build errors are? I can't help fix what I can't see,
usually.... :-)

I'd also tried to compile with your patch, but the make under
/usr/src/ivtv_xdriver_0.10.6/ivtvdrv/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/ivtv
give a lot of errors :-(
