Hi Ian, (thanks also to Thomas Andrews) Ian Campbell wrote: > My Debian packages are available on my website at > http://www.hellion.org.uk/ivtv/debian/ > > They are not being uploaded for the moment since the driver does not > work with X.org 7.1 (see [1]) but they are good for X.org 7.0 which I > believe is currently in testing.
Ah, I remember now, I had merciful amnesia a week ago when I first tried to get the precompiled ivtv module working in XFree86 :) I had found your website, thanks Ian, and this module appears to be loading correctly in Xorg that I have downloaded from testing. Thomas, thanks for bringing that page to my attention, I did have a few errors in my xorg.conf. I have double checked the configuration and it matches what is on the "XV on PRV-350" page (with /dev/fb0 and BusID set correctly) However there is only a black screen coming from the AV connection on the Hauppauge. I'm using the Hauppauge supplied converter cable which converts from the "A/V Output connector" to S-Video with composite and audio. Here is the list of ivtv modules loaded: # lsmod | grep ivtv ivtv_fb 29796 1 ivtv 180944 1 ivtv_fb firmware_class 9888 1 ivtv i2c_algo_bit 9000 1 ivtv v4l1_compat 12900 1 ivtv tveeprom 14480 1 ivtv i2c_core 20320 9 msp3400,saa7127,saa7115,tda9887,tuner,ivtv,i2c_algo_bit,i2c_i801,tveeprom videodev 9088 1 ivtv Here are the errors in my Xorg.0.log file: # grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log (EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)Framebuffer id from dev /dev/fb0is 0 (EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)open /dev/video48 returned 7 (EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)get_fb returned 0 fbid 0 In pstree and 'ps aux' xdm is running so I should see something on the TV, right? Should I post my Xorg.0.log and/or xorg.conf files?
