Hello! I once had a working PVR150, running with 0.4.7, on Ubuntu dapper drake, ie kernel 2.6.15 I had an old IBM server, with 2 scsi disks, and an exteranl usb drive for myth storage So, I decided that raid 1 (mirror) would be nice to have, since the disks are old (5 year +) Dapper does not support raid on root file system, so I download kernel, and go with ubunto's way of making kernels sudo make menuconfig sudo make-kpkg clean sudo make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-bnl-raid-try-2 kernel_image kernel_headers sudo dpkg -i kernel-image-2.6.15--bnl-raid-try-2_10.00.Custom_i386.deb sudo dpkg -i kernel-headers-2.6.15--bnl-raid-try-2_10.00.Custom_i386.deb I then got a new kernel, but ivtv would not load. ok, so I did a make sudo make install sudo depmod sudo modprobe ivtv and I get FATAL: Error inserting ivtv (/lib/modules/2.6.15-27-386-bnl-raid-try-2/ivtv/ivtv.ko): Invalid module format looking at modinfo I see [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/myth/ivtv-0.4.7$ sudo modinfo ivtv filename: /lib/modules/2.6.15-27-386-bnl-raid-try-2/ivtv/ivtv.ko author: Kevin Thayer, Chris Kennedy, Hans Verkuil description: CX23415/CX23416 driver license: GPL version: 0.4.7 (tagged release) vermagic: 2.6.15-27-386-bnl-raid-try-2 preempt 486 gcc-4.0 depends: videodev,i2c-core,i2c-algo-bit alias: pci:v00004444d00000803sv*sd*bc*sc*i* If I try to boot with the old kernel, I get the same result, with other modules directory FATAL: Error inserting ivtv (/lib/modules/2.6.15-27-386/ivtv/ivtv.ko): Invalid module format If i compile/install ivtv with this kernel, I still get FATAL: Error inserting ivtv (/lib/modules/2.6.15-27-386/ivtv/ivtv.ko): Invalid module format but modinfo still shows vermagic: 2.6.15-27-386-bnl-raid-try-2 preempt 486 gcc-4.0 So what to do? mean while I'll try another kernel compile... Thankful for any hints, knowing that kernel compilation usually is over my head. /Björn Björn Lundin b dot f dot lundin at gmail dot com /Björn Björn Lundin b dot f dot lundin at gmail dot com |
