Can you test with the latest version from subversion?

That's much more interesting for me. The video glitches should be
completely fixed in that version. But I'm still not certain how well
the closed captioning works.
Why the vbi tool would fail with 0.8.0 is beyond me, I see no reason for
that. I'll wait and see what your experiences are with the trunk ivtv
version.
