I am working on getting the ivtv drivers installed and working.
I followed the following instructions at:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_Dapper_Installation
I am having problems in that I get a zero file size when I go:
cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg
ls -l test.mpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2006-11-05 23:11 test.mpg
It seems to that the driver and firmware installed properly as when I
ivtv-tune -c 3
/dev/video0: 61.250 MHz (Signal Detected)
and if I unplug the cable to my card and run ivtv-tune -c 3
I just get the following output and no signal is detected.
/dev/video0: 61.250 MHz
I am currently running
Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with kernel 2.6.15-26-386 and ivtv ver 0.4.7 stable
I have also tried this with Debian etch kenel 2.6.17 with ivtv ver. 0.7 and got stuck at the same place.
The card is a PVR-150 and I pretty sure an VIA motherboard but not sure of the exact type.
