I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu Edgy. I did a clean install of this and not an upgrade. Ever since, I have been having tons of problems trying to get ivtv to consistently run. in the dmesg. That failed api message will continue for awhile, and then finally give up. I did some searching, and it looks like it might be related to the amd64 code. I have an amd64 chip (AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+). I have tried different versions of ivtv, and have worked with Mario over at the ubuntu wiki page for edgy to try to get different versions to work. But it seems like I always get this error message.
I was running Ubuntu 6.06 before, with the latest kernel, which I thought was 2.6.17-something, and used ivtv 0.4.6 without any problems. But when I try to compile it on Edgy, it gives an error because the kernel is not at the right version.
Just wondering if anybody else have run into this problem and what the fix might be.
