I currently own a PVR-350: tuner model is Temic 4039FR5 (idx 33, type 21) and a PVR-500: tuner = Philips FQ1236A MK4 (idx = 92, type = 57)
The picture quality on the PVR-350 is pretty good. However the picture quality of the PVR-500 is poor: http://snoopy.isa-geek.net:8044/pvr-500.jpg I am mostly complaining about that horizontal distortion bar which runs through the guy's neck. That bar does not show up all the time (it comes and goes), but it is there most of the time, and on most of the channels. I assume there are not any IVTV setting which can help get rid of that distortion bar? If I wanted to replace the PVR-500, what card should I get? Are some "tuners" better than others? Is there a model of the PVR-500 with a good tuner? How can I tell which tuner a card has before buying it? Thanks for any info.
