Hi, I have been beating my brains out for two weeks with this problem. I found a few others with the same issue (Error -12 on initialization), but no resolution has been posted.
I am currently using 2.6.18-ck1, but have tried older kernels with the corresponding version of the ivtv source. I am running Gentoo, and have used the gentoo ebuilds, plus tried to roll my own using the various howto docs found on the web. It is locating and loading the firmware, but errors toward the end with a message about locating firmware. Not sure why this is. I am guessing that even specifying the cardtype=1 to ivtv, it may still be thinking it is a PVR 150, hence why I get the message "msp3400 0-0040: chip reset failed" since I understand that a PVR 150 doesn't have a msp3400. Don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
