Hi,

Please disregard my prior message from 12/22 ( see below ); I solved the 
problem.

FYI -  the issue was only that the frequency settings ( us-cable ) seem to 
be incorrect for my location. I added a frequency scanning routine to 
ivtv-tune to locate valid frequencies and this successfully located the 
valid frequencies.
