I'm having trouble with video tearing (vertical sync? or maybe not,
unsure) after an upgrade.

The system used to work flawlessly, using gentoo-sources-2.6.16-r4 and
ivtv-0.6.4 and mythtv 0.20_p12325.
I'm running a hauppauge PVR-150.

I just upgraded to gentoo-sources-2.6.19-r4 / ivtv-0.9.1 / mythtv
0.20_p12376

If I setup ivtvctl/v4l2-cfg settings manually and run "mplayer
/dev/video0" it works great, I see clean stable video, and I can change
the channels by command line.

But as soon as I run mythbackend, the video in mythfrontend tears pretty
badly... some black-and-white comes in clear, but most of it gets trashed.
If I then stop mythbackend, and revert back to "mplayer /dev/video0" it
still tears... and the problem persists until I reboot.

Technically I suppose this is a mythtv configuration or integration
problem, not a problem in ivtv. But clearly mythtv is setting
something in the ivtv module that is causing this to happen. I hoped
you guys might recognize it.

Thanks.
