The whole buffer allocation code is crap as far as I can tell. I
completely redid the code in the current trunk version of ivtv. You
might try to include the 'max_mpg_buffers=8' module option and see if
that works. I would also recommend upgrading to the latest ivtv-0.4
version.
Thanks---I'll give that a shot the next time I can boot the machine (a
few hours away). Any other options I might want to try playing with?
The long term solution is to upgrade to a 2.6.18 or up kernel. The new,
fixed driver will become available in the near future for that kernel
and up.
I'm hoping to do that eventually, but can't in the next few weeks.
Any comments on my previous letter asking about yuv_buffers?
