After two days and a dozen hours, I'm at my wits end. I cannot get any sound from my pvr-350. I can record the output from the card via cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg, but there is no audio in the file. Relevant System config: Dual Intel PIII Coppermine, 1Ghz 1.5 GB Ram no sound card PVR-350 Debian Etch Kernel 2.6.18-4-686 #1 SMP The system is (was?) destined to be a MythTV backend. It's usually headless, feeding video to alternate frontend systems. Myth is not yet installed. I've tried ivtv 0.80, 0.82, and 0.10.1. I've installed from Debian's source repository, pre-built modules from debian-multimedia.org, and from ivtvdriver.org's source. I've tried forcing mute on and off via v4l2-ctl. I've tried boosting the volume via v4l2-ctl. No luck. I've tried the current firmware from ivtv, and old firmware and beta firmware from Hauppaugage. I've read dozens of how-tos, mailing list threads, message board posts, and web pages. In desperation, I'm turning here. I hate to bother people, as I'm sure my mistake is something simple, but my head is spinning and I'm exhausted. Please tell me what my silly mistake is, so I can get some sleep.
