The first indication of any problem occurred 1 hour and 12 minutes
before the messages I posted.
It's a single line with: ivtv0 warning: CX2341X_ENC_SET_VBI_LINE took
128 jiffies (1000 per HZ)

With X output still going through the PVR-350 the frontend stays on the
screen and I hear TV sound.

The trouble is it usually hangs within less than a minute but sometimes
will run for much longer. I've not tried that yet.

Hmmm. Thank you very much for your extensive e-mail!

It looks like there are just too many possible causes for this problem.
It may not be worth my time to try and pinpoint the cause.
MythTV was stable on the same hardware in FC4. I've not been able to get
it to work reliably in FC6.
I'm thinking of replacing the complete system and with non PVR 350 TV card.

Hoping to finally get it stable I just updated to a new kernel (with
what seemed to be the right ivtv and video4linux versions).
/var/log/messages now shows:
v4l1_compat: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
and then a bit later:

Things have not improved with the "v4l1_compat: no version for "struct_module"
found: kernel tainted" message.
So many dependencies! Any idea how to fix this?

Regards,

Daniel
