Hi Robert, Thanks for the response. I tried that several times and the results were the same. >Date: Sun, 25 Mar 2007 13:36:15 +0700 >From: "Igor V.Marenkov" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: [ivtv-users] unable to open firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw >I were have so trouble too with gentoo and udev >104-r11(hardware: >gotview dvd2 deluxe) and it fixed only after >installation udev 104-r12. Hi Igor, I don't recall off the top of my head (I'm at work at the moment) which version of udev I ended up installing. I think it was the very latest that gentoo had to offer. However, that version that started behaving a bit flakey on reboot, reporting errors about devices and such. In fact, upgrading that version of udev created a situation where the machine has to be powered off when I shut it down (it goes into a loop on this udev error). So, perhaps I should try a different distribution (as Daniel did)? I will say, however, that even in prior versions of udev the firmware load problem continued. Anyway, I should be back on that project in a couple of weeks...And I was sort of hoping that whatever was failing on udev would be sorted out and that, with more time, the ivtv issues would shake out as well. Thanks again for everyone's help, though I fear that I may be back. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Now that's room service!
