I've got more experience with this problem now. One of the telling things was this line in /proc/interrupts: 16: 4035256 0 IO-APIC-fasteoi nvidia, ivtv0 and also the fact that I could recording without watching a show and watching a show without recording seemed to work, but the doing both at the same time didn't work.
As I understand it, IRQ16 is being shared by the nvidia driver and by the ivtv driver. I got the suggestion to move the tv tuner card to a different slot, so the relevant lines from /proc/interrupts now is: 16: 558264 0 IO-APIC-fasteoi nvidia 18: 1106270 0 IO-APIC-fasteoi ivtv0 I still get the many error messages in /var/log/messages but the tv tuner at least works now, even when I'm playing a video. _______________________________________________ ivtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-users
