I'm trying to get a known-good PVR-150 working in a new computer running 32 bit Gentoo. I've tried the gentoo ivtv distribution (0.10.1) as well as the latest, 0.10.3. I have tried the newi2c module parameter with both module versions. Running with kernel 2.6.20.
Here are the various log messages generated: Version 0.10.3 with newi2c=0 or no parameters: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== ivtv: version 0.10.3 (tagged release) loading ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.20-gentoo-r8 preempt mod_unload PENTIUM4 ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist. ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge card (cx23416 based) ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:07:01.0[A] -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (376836 bytes) ivtv0: Encoder revision: 0x02060039 tveeprom 1-0050: Hauppauge model 26552, rev G168, serial# 9834290 tveeprom 1-0050: tuner model is LG TAPE H001F MK3 (idx 68, type 47) tveeprom 1-0050: TV standards NTSC(M) (eeprom 0x08) tveeprom 1-0050: audio processor is CX25843 (idx 37) tveeprom 1-0050: decoder processor is CX25843 (idx 30) tveeprom 1-0050: has radio, has no IR receiver, has no IR transmitter ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 cx25840 1-0044: cx25843-23 found @ 0x88 (ivtv i2c driver #0) cx25840 1-0044: firmware v4l-cx25840.fw load failed wm8775 1-001b: chip found @ 0x36 (ivtv i2c driver #0) ivtv0: Registered device video0 for encoder MPEG (4 MB) ivtv0: Registered device video32 for encoder YUV (2 MB) ivtv0: Registered device vbi0 for encoder VBI (1 MB) ivtv0: Registered device video24 for encoder PCM audio (1 MB) ivtv0: Registered device radio0 for encoder radio i2c_adapter i2c-1: sendbytes: error - bailout. wm8775 1-001b: I2C: cannot write 0c0 to register R21 wm8775 1-001b: I2C: cannot write 1d4 to register R14 wm8775 1-001b: I2C: cannot write 1d4 to register R15 wm8775 1-001b: I2C: cannot write 102 to register R21 ivtv0: Initialized Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150, card #0 ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ==================== Version 0.10.3 with newi2c=1: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== ivtv: version 0.10.3 (tagged release) loading ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.20-gentoo-r8 preempt mod_unload PENTIUM4 ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist. ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge card (cx23416 based) ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:07:01.0[A] -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (376836 bytes) ivtv0: Encoder revision: 0x02060039 tveeprom 1-0050: Hauppauge model 26552, rev G168, serial# 9834290 tveeprom 1-0050: tuner model is LG TAPE H001F MK3 (idx 68, type 47) tveeprom 1-0050: TV standards NTSC(M) (eeprom 0x08) tveeprom 1-0050: audio processor is CX25843 (idx 37) tveeprom 1-0050: decoder processor is CX25843 (idx 30) tveeprom 1-0050: has radio, has no IR receiver, has no IR transmitter ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 cx25840 1-0044: cx25843-23 found @ 0x88 (ivtv i2c driver #0) cx25840 1-0044: loaded v4l-cx25840.fw firmware (16382 bytes) ivtv0: Registered device video0 for encoder MPEG (4 MB) ivtv0: Registered device video32 for encoder YUV (2 MB) ivtv0: Registered device vbi0 for encoder VBI (1 MB) ivtv0: Registered device video24 for encoder PCM audio (1 MB) ivtv0: Registered device radio0 for encoder radio ivtv0: i2c hardware 0x00000020 (wm8775) not found for command 0x4008646d! ivtv0: Initialized Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150, card #0 ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ==================== The log messages were identical save version number with 0.10.1. Any clues how I can make this work? There is simply no video/audio. Tuning a channel with ivtv-tune reports success but says nothing about signal detected, which I'm used to seeing. My guess here is some chip on the card isn't being setup because of an I2C problem. Thanks! -Aaron _______________________________________________ ivtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-users
