Did you already try to run the test_image test from the module (saa7127) that
does the display?
I may have a similar issue with my pvr350; I run the test_image test and I see
some output on my TV but the image is not right and somehow unstable (hard to
describe, I will take a picture).
(using ivtv 1.0.3 on one of the latest Ubuntu linux kernels).
