The PVR-xx0 cards have a fixed upper capture resolution (720x480 in NTSC) which is lower than 720p HDTV (1280x720). You also need to ensure that you are not capturing with too high a bitrate for a particular bitrate. If you choose too high a bitrate, you will lose extra storage space without an equivalent increase in capture quality. Please see http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/tutorial/bitrate.html to determine suitable bitrate/resolution combinations to get the best results from your card. You may also want to look into adjusting the filtering that the ivtv driver performs as these picture adjustments may become more apparent on a HDTV set (I don't have one, but it seems plausible). -- Nick MythTV Official wiki: http://mythtv.org/wiki/ MythTV users list archive: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest." - Benjamin Franklin _______________________________________________ ivtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-users
