Hi,

I am trying to create a stable system with mythTV. I have limited my
problem down to my PVR-150MCE card. For some reason when I record TV it
freezes the entire system requiring me to hard reboot to recover. This is a
huge problem for a Myth Server!

Some info on my server:
Fedora Core 6
P4 3.4Ghz
512mb RAM
Nvidia 6200 (binary drivers installed)
HDHomeRun
Firewire
PVR-150MCE

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ uname -a
Linux mythtv 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 #1 SMP Tue Jun 19 19:27:14 EDT 2007 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ rpm -qa 'kernel*' --queryformat
"%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}.%{ARCH}\n"|sort
kernel-2.6.20-1.2952.fc6.i686

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ ls -l /etc/firmware
total 744
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 752350 Jul 17 2006 microcode.dat

I have disabled all my PVR-150 schedules and when i record only from the
firewire or HDHomeRun the system never locks up. But when recording through
the PVR i get about 5-60mins before the system freezes. I started with
installing mythtv with Jarods Fedora guide. Since the initial install I
have compiled Mythtv SVN and compiled my own IVTV stable drivers from source
instead of using RPM's.

a cat of my /var/log/messages reveals...

This line grabbed my attention...
Aug 7 23:16:36 mythtv kernel: ivtv0: All encoder MPEG stream buffers are
full. Dropping data.
Aug 7 23:16:36 mythtv kernel: ivtv0: Cause: the application is not reading

but how do i fix that?

I hope I have provided enough information as to the system/issue. Please
email if you need more info or have a fix! Ill be quick to respond.

Thanks,
Mitchell
