I did the make install, restarted mythbackend, rmmod'ed ivtv_fb and
modprobe'd ivtv_fb without the osd_compat option. I no longer see the
"Running in compatibility mode. Display resize & mode change disabled" in
dmesg, so I guesss that all went okay.

I can still watch live tv and view recordings, so everything looks fine.

Anything in particular you would like me to test?

Btw, this with the following ivtv version and kernel:
ivtv:  version 0.10.5 (tagged release) loading
ivtv:  Linux version: 2.6.20 SMP mod_unload CORE2 4KSTACKS
