Actually, that was stable not unstable. So it should be fine, I wonder
why it breaks for you...

The issue is that Debian don't include the fourth digit in the kernel
version so 2.6.22.<n> all appear as 2.6.22. The ivtv source tries to
detect which version of ivtv-driver.h to use based on the <n> and so
this failed on Debian. I patched it to try and use Module.symvers if it
is available.

Can you send me the output of 
        grep ivtv_udma_setup /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build/Module.symvers
and take a look in /usr/share/doc/linux-image-$(uname
-r)/changelog.Debian.gz to find out the latest stable release which was
imported.
