Hello, I'm using ivtv 0.10.5 that I compiled and installed myself and MythTV 2.20.2-3 from the distro OpenSUSE 10.2.
After watching the same channel for a few minutes the sound get distorted (very noisy), if I switch channel or restart MythTV the sound is fine for a few minutes. I am not sure if this problem is caused by my card, ivtv or MythTV. I have not tested the card in Windows since I don't have Windows. I do not use the analog loop cable from the hauppauge card to my soundcard as sound seems to work without it. I use a optical cable from my soundcard. Sound is fine when playing anything else. The hauppauge card is installed on the second PCI slot below the AGP adapter, the first PCI is free and the thrid PCI slot below the hauppauge card is free to make room for air. The black heatsink on the card is pretty hot but from my experience with hardware I believe it is normal. Except for that the PC is pretty cold. If it was overheated I guess it wouldn't have worked switching channels. I have been playing with some different versions of ivtv and some different firmware versions. According to the instructions on http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Firmware I shall use the PVR-150 driver for the encoder and the PCR-250/350 driver for the decoder, is this correct? I think these are the ones I currently use: encoder: http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/pvr150/cd_pvr150_27.zip decoder: ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/wintv-pvr_250-350/inf/pvr_1.18.21.22301_inf.zip I tried to get the latest driver from http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/pvr250/pvr250_driver_118_23257.zip and extract the firmware from that without any luck.
