I'm finding the quality of the image captured by my PVR-500 tuners (via the 'cat /dev/videox' method) to be pretty poor. The best I can describe is that it is noisy or 'blocky' or grainy. The problem is on both tuners.
I can compare the tuner images to an S-video capture from a cable box on the same card. The S-video image is perfectly clear and stable unlike the tuner images. Does anyone have any suggestions on improving image quality? Load-time messages are below.
