Hello James, I wish I could help you but I am having the exact some problems.
I find that a reboot usually helps the situation. Does it help your situation? Addi tonally there is not much help out there for users that don't wish to fully install mythTV. There are a lot of channels that I have that will show in black&white if i use ivtv-tune -c <chanel> but conversly if i use ivtv-tune -f <frequency> not only is it color but the picture quality is much better. Just for curiosity what does a modinfo tuner give you? mine is pasted below. # modinfo tuner filename: /lib/modules/2.6.23.1-21.fc7/kernel/drivers/media/video/tuner.ko license: GPL author: Ralph Metzler, Gerd Knorr, Gunther Mayer description: device driver for various TV and TV+FM radio tuners depends: i2c-core,v4l2-common vermagic: 2.6.23.1-21.fc7 SMP mod_unload 686 4KSTACKS parm: port1:int parm: port2:int parm: qss:int parm: adjust:int parm: optimize_vco:int parm: tv_antenna:int parm: radio_antenna:int parm: offset:Allows to specify an offset for tuner (int) parm: force:List of adapter, address pairs to boldly assume to be present (array of short) parm: probe:List of adapter, address pairs to scan additionally (array of short) parm: ignore:List of adapter, address pairs not to scan (array of short) parm: addr:int parm: no_autodetect:int parm: show_i2c:int parm: debug:int parm: pal:string parm: secam:string parm: ntsc:string parm: tv_range:array of int parm: radio_range:array of int I am not so sure mine is correct but thats what I ended up with and I am able to view video and change channels the whole setup just doesn't seem very solid. I only realized it had to be a frequency issue after I tried to tune to channel 46 and it was channel 45.
