I have a Hauppage PVR-150 that likes to switch from
displaying color to displaying only in black and white
after a seemingly random period of time of watching (cable)
 TV.  It doesn't appear to favor any channel, and it
usually happens after changing channels, although I think
it's happened spontaneously while watching a single channel
 a few times too. I usually use VLC to watch, although the
problem also exists if using mplayer.  Everything else
about the card's output/input is fine after it transitions
to b/w... lirc works fine, picture quality is still good,
audio is fine.

I can temporarily remedy the problem by removing the IVTV
module and probing it again, but it seems that the problem
reoccurs more quickly after doing so.

Is this a hardware problem? Am I missing some special
configuration settings?

I'm running ivtv-0.10.6, no module options AFAIK, and
nothing unusual shows up in the logs when the transition
to b/w occurs.
