It will work with the firmware from [2]. There is absolutely no need to
extract it yourself. However, the tuner ignore=0,0x6b option is still
needed unless you use 1) 2.6.25-rcX or 2) 2.6.22 or up and the bleeding
edge drivers. This module option works around i2c-core limitations that
were only fixed in 2.6.22 and ivtv support for those fixes did not
arrive until 2.6.25 (it was very complicated and a lot of work).
Also the reference to the Japanese tuner should stay I think (I wasn't
aware of this and will try to add support for it in ivtv).
You also need to specify whether you use pal (module option pal=b for
example) since there is no other way to specify whether you have a PAL
version or not.
As an aside: I need to improve on these pal/ntsc/secam module options,
they are not quite flexible enough.
