I have a usage question concerning the combination of the video and
radio tuners on PVR-500 and PVR-350. I'm using this in mythtv but I
don't believe that is really relevant. The way it is being used is to
tune to a specific video channel and then tune the radio on the same
card so the radio audio replaces the audio that was heard from the
original video tuning. As an example, I use this to tune the weather
station to display on the TV but replace the audio with that available
on any tunable radio station. It provides nice background music, talk
radio, or whatever is available that I decide to listen to. It's also
useful for replacing the television commentary on sports with the
commentators from the radio. The radio commentators typically have to
provide better information. It is a mechanism to provide my own
simulcast setup, if you will. Normally, this would be done with a
separate television/radio setup.

My original intention was to make the radio work in mythtv and during
the research found that this is a great and required feature that should
be maintained. With the ivtv 1.0 driver this works great. However, with
the ivtv 1.1.0 included with the 2.6.24.3-12.fc8 kernel it no longer
functions that way. Attempting to tune the radio after displaying video
in the 1.1.0 driver results in "device resource busy" or something close
to that.

My specific question is: Was the functionality removed intentionally for
technical reasons or as a side affect of other changes?
A secondary question would be: Is there another way around this in the
ivtv 1.1.0 version that is included in the 2.6.24.3-X series kernels?

Any information would be appreciated.

Bruce
