Noticed problem only after upgarding from kernel 2.6.23-gentoo-r5 (from
gentoo-sources)
Noticed first with 2.6.24-gentoo and downgraded back to 2.6.23-gentoo-r5
Now upgraded kernel again, but this time to 2.6.24-gentoo-r4 and noticed same
problem
Problem is that some (but not all) recordings from pvr150 card made from mythtv
have audio problems as follows:
tinny, over-driven audio (sounds like blown speakers)
low volume
adjusting mixer settings for playback doesn't help
seems like input gain was too high when recording
Problem is definitely in the recording and not an issue with playback mixer
levels.
I hear the same problem in the recordings played on two other boxes (one Linux
box using mythfrontend, and one Windows box using MythtvPlayer).
Doesn't seem to be related to the channel I'm watching. It appears to occur
for stretches
of recordings. I have mythtv set up to shut down the host it runs on when it
is idle, so
it may be the case that sometimes the ivtv driver initializes itself in a bad
state, such
that all recording made fromt he pvr150 are bad until the box reboots again.
I haven't confirmed this.
