The message is pretty accurate. Whatever application you are using is not reading the mpeg data from the card fast enough. Ivtv uses a buffer to hold the mpeg stream from the encoder chip. But when this is full it does the only logically thing it can and empties the oldest data it has in the buffer. Also with all the info provided you forget the most important one.
