Hi. My MythTV box has been running for a long time without problems,
but this is the second time this has happened in a few weeks. Lost
quite a bit of the Olympics.

The recordings will be fine, then they're zero-bytes. I see this in
mythbackend.log:

  *********************** WARNING ***********************
ivtv drivers prior to 0.10.0 can cause lockups when
reading VBI. Drivers between 0.10.5 and 1.0.3+ do not
properly capture VBI data on PVR-250 and PVR-350 cards.

2008-08-17 19:00:13.430 MPEGRec(/dev/video0) Error: select timeout -
ivtv driver has stopped responding
2008-08-17 19:00:18.964 MPEGRec(/dev/video0) Error: select timeout -
ivtv driver has stopped responding
2008-08-17 19:00:24.498 MPEGRec(/dev/video0) Error: select timeout -
ivtv driver has stopped responding
(I see the above line hundreds of times)

Rebooting fixes that, but that's not a good solution.

Googling around and looking at the archives of this list, I see mention
of turning off DMA on ivtv. I don't know how to do that, but this box
doesn't do that much else and it's usually over 90% idle, so I don't
know that it would do any good.

I've seen other posts with this error in conjunction with other errors,
leading to other causes (like directory positions), but the only
messages I see are the message about the ivtv driver version, and the
MPEGRec error.

I find the ivtv drivers error curious, since I'm running ivtv 1.2.0.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
