I can confirm the problem. What you can do is modify the Screen section of 
xorg.conf. Since you define a 720x576 screen mode, add a 'Modes "720x576"' 
line as shown below. This will allow X to start.
If you want the default 640x480 mode as well, use 'Modes "720x576" "640x480"'
