Sorry for reposting, but I didn't receive a single opinion and I really would
like to solve my problem.
I've been using linux as my only OS for 6 years now and it would be a shame
not to succeed in setting up my htpc computer...

Hi, I've been using a PVR 150 for quite a long, without being completely
satisfied by its behaviour but with no time to investigate further.
Now I have time and did some tests, and I hope someone gives me some hints on
how to improve my recordings. I use this card with mythtv, but I did the raw
tests outside mythtv as described in the howto.

First: I made sure the card works well under windows. done. the card works
well.
Second: downloaded the latest firmware and copied to the right location (I
hope)
Third: tune with ivtv-tune and capture the stream with
cat /dev/video0 > /tmp/test.mpg
and watched the output file with xine.

Here I found the same problem as in mythtv:
- on some channels the audio goes away for some short period of time
- some other channels the audio is ok but image is very bad: my english is not
good enough to explain, but I see geen lines and sometimes part of picture
from another channel

I noticed also that sometimes I change channel with ivtv-tune but when I use
cat /dev/vide0 > /tmp/test.mpg
the output file remains empty. Notice that five minutes before the same
channel produced a good output.

What can I try to get the best image under linux?
Thanks for your attention, any hint is really appreciated.
