Thank you for anyone who can assist. Setup new server with Centos 5, Hauppauge
PVR 500 and MythTV. Everything worked fine and dandy. Somewhere in the
updates to Cent, things broke and no capture card can be seen by mythtv and
ivtv modprobe says "no module ivtv".
Current information on the system is this:
Linux Version: Centos 5.2
Kernel: Linux version 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5
Udev version: udevinfo, version 095
ivtv version: ivtv-0.10.0.
lscpi output for Hauppauge PVR-500:
02:08.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416)
MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
02:09.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416)
MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
modprobe ivtv says no module ivtv
/dev shows no video or tuner items other than nvidia card.
modprobe.conf
alias scsi_hostadapter 3w-9xxx
alias scsi_hostadapter1 ata_piix
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel

options snd-hda-intel index=0
remove snd-hda-intel { /usr/sbin/alsactl store 0>/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; };
/sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-hda-intel
alias eth0 e1000
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv <-- Added these lines manually
alias char-major-81-1 ivtv <-- Added these lines manually
I have tried rolling back a kernel or two, tried moving the Hauppauge card to a
new PCI slot, reinstalled myth and ivtv with no success.
Myth seems to be running correctly v .20
The kernel sees the pvr 500's, but dev and ivtv does not. Also attempted to
set a rule with udev and it told me that when I tried the following command:
DRIVER=="ivtv", SYSFS{name}=="ivtv? encoder MPEG", ID=="0000:02:08.0",
SYMLINK+="pvr_500_1"
bash: SYSFS{name}==ivtv? encoder MPEG,: command not found
Anyone who is a linux guru on this know how to point me in the direction to fix
this?
Thanks!
