Hello,
I have problem with my card I have seen in a few posts but I never seen any
reply. My card is detecting sound on about 80% of channels without a problem.
But there are some channels that sometimes have very big lag in detection (up
to one hour). And there is a few channels that when I tune just after I power
up my machine have sound. When I tune to another one and back to this one there
is no sound (--log-status is showing "detecting"). But when I stop watching and
tune same channel twice it get sound. It is a problem when I want to record
something from a few channels and then some of my recordings have no sound at
all. Very rarely when I tune channel without audio twice then audio is
misdetected

I have been trying to enable "pvr150_workaround" that is in the driver "ivtv
driver" with adding my tuner number as "case" in switch but it have not helped
me. I have been trying to use tips posted here:
http://www.ivtvdriver.org/pipermail/ivtv-users/2005-November/000388.html
but it have not helped me as well. I used two versions of firmware for cx25840
that are on ivtvproject site but both are not working ok for me. I have tried
two versions of kernel 2.6.25.15 and 2.6.26.5 with ivtv 1.2.0 and ivtv 1.3.0
without any better results.

I hoped that forcing pal standard for tda9887 chip described here would help:
http://ivtvdriver.org/viewcvs/ivtv/tags/0.6.7/doc/README.tda9887?rev=3817&view=markup
But there is no such parameter in this module anymore and passing it to "tuner"
module does not help.
I have tried options port1, port2 and qss parameters as well and sound
detections looks to be faster when I set:
tda9887 port1=1 port2=0 qss=1
But described problems still exist.

I have been trying to change sound input to another one and back to tv when
sound is missing on channel but it changed nothing. Same for stopping and
starting audio microcontroller.

I am live in Poland (PAL standard) and I have this problems on cable TV.

Please tell me anything I should post that would help anyone recognize the
problem. I am trying to fix it since a week or so and I would be very glad for
any help.

Here is my dmesg output:
