I use Debian Lenny with kernel.org+grsecurity kernels. In 2.6.25.15, everything works.
In 2.6.26.5 however, the card can't be tuned (in MythTV 0.21.svn20080706). It stays on the last tuned channel (which was set before the reboot, while running 2.6.25), or it shows static (when doing a cold boot). Maybe it has something to do with tuner.ko no longer automatically loading tuner-simple (and tda9887), I don't know why that's changed. MythTV doesn't give relevant errors (the same log for .25 and .26). It looks a lot like this problem: http://ivtvdriver.org/pipermail/ivtv-users/2008-July/008492.html But his problem seems to be solved by actually _building_ the required modules (done that), or reloading ivtv (which isn't an option for me, because ivtvfb is the console), or something, it's unclear to me how he solved it. I've tried (un)setting CONFIG_MEDIA_ATTACH, MEDIA_TUNER_CUSTOMIZE, VIDEO_HELPER_CHIPS_AUTO. I've also tried manually preloading tuner_simple and tda9887. What else can I try? Thanks!
